This drawing was done from a black and white photo that I took while on a ship in the Coast Guard. The amazing thing is that I was able to draw this pattern by hand while the ship was rocking. I once saw a painting by Chuck Close in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and it was amazing. This may have been inspired, in part, by his work.
